Luggage
Check your airlines for luggage weight limits. Try not to take
too much because there may be a time when you'll have to carry your own
luggage (going is not too bad--returning with an extra 50 pounds of gifts
could be cumbersome).
- Durable cloth expandable bags with lots of pockets give you the most
space
- Try to limit your bags to one suitcase and one carry-on per person,
and one garment bag per couple. You may have more luggage on your way
back
- Locks or straps are strongly recommended
- Pack all liquids in Ziploc bags
- To prevent wrinkling, pack items individually in dry-cleaner bags
or between layers of tissue paper
- Pack little stuff inside big stuff to save room
- Carefully mark each piece with your name and business address outside
and INSIDE your baggage. If cruising affix your cruise line tags as
directed

Additional packing tips
- Pack heavy items, such as shoes and toiletry kits, before the more
delicate ones. Place them along the suitcase’s spine to balance
weight at the bottom.
- To reduce wrinkling, turn jackets inside out and fold them in half
with tissue paper or dry-cleaning bags. Also, layering plastic bags
or tissue between clothes, also helps to prevent wrinkles.
- Hang clothing in the bathroom while showering to steam out wrinkles.
- Line the bottom of your suitcase with your trousers and let the legs
hang over the outside edge of the suitcase. Then pack the rest of your
travel gear with the lighter materials on top. Wrap trouser legs over
the pile; they’ll keep their crease.
- Stuff socks and rolled-up belts into shoes to save space.
- Take along plastic bags for laundry or wet swimsuits.
- Bring an empty, soft bag for souvenirs.
